Hello my name is Greg Chadwick and I have been using a Deben Ferret Finder since about 2004. This site was launched to review the electronic ferret finding method, promote ferret care and to supply ferret information to ferret enthusiasts.
I do not claim to be an absolute expert at ferret hunting however I am a ferret breeder and in my spare time I like to take my ferrets our for some rabbit hunting. In Feid Demostration of The Deben Feret Finder
The Deben Ferret Finders can be used from the novice ferret hunter to the advance ferret hunting enthusiasts. It is as simple as pointing the device in the direction until you hear a beeping noise. The beeping noise will increase as you get closer to the ferret and decrease when you move further away, much like a hot and cold scale.
The latest ferret searchers (Ferret Finder 3) has a tracking range of approximately 16 feet as well as improved extra sensitive close up accuracy which means the newest version of ferret searchers are more flexible than ever and practically on steroids. In search mode the working range is up to approximately 16ft while in locate mode the range is about 8ft for extremely accuracy.
The latest ferret locator kit features a low light weight collar and with a visible search and locate LED display and a range of pitch sounder. The ten LED display indicates distance from you pet ferret and the changing of the pitch sounder indicates whether the ferret is approaching or moving away from the ferret locator. The latest ferret finder now has the pinpoint control allowing you to really home in on you pet ferret.
The unique circuited receiver is designed to both detect the signal which is transmitted by the collar and to reject any other outside influences. The receiver has no moving parts with improves the reliability of the ferret locator and is designed to use ultra electronic circuitry and receiver magnetic read switches. All these aspects have improved the life time of the device to 300 hours. The device can also be used to locate more that one ferret all you have to do is have more that one collar and the device works exactly the same. You can usually purchase the receiver in Graphite-Grey or Bright Orange.
